Gloryholes Jacksonville Fl

found the skeleton of a mammoth 40,000 years ago in downtown Los Angeles

is obvious that the mammoths were not part of the group of dinosaurs, yet I found it interesting that this news and the public on the blog.

This is what the digital newspaper published 20minutes s :

Note: This is not the fossil found, although it may have been similar.

" The nearly complete skeleton of a Columbian mammoth huge who died during the last Ice Age has been discovered in a construction area near La Brea Tar Pits in downtown Los Angeles.

The mammoth, nicknamed 'Zed' by researchers Page Museum at La Brea Tar Pits, probably died more than 40 years ago 40,000, and was found near a treasure trove of fossils with workers encountered while digging the foundation a underground parking.

One of his pelvic bone is the size of a dining table

"What makes this so special, so exciting for us is that 'Zed' is a complete specimen " said the lab supervisor, Shelley Cox, as he showed reporters Wednesday pelvic bone embedded dust and the size of a dining table.

"It's really big compared to the mammoth that we have recovered earlier in La Brea," said Cox. "The fangs are considerably larger than anything we expected."

The Columbian mammoth was a elephant species that became extinct near the end of the last ice age. "
